It always seems harder to cool down when its hot, than it is to warm up when its cold. I find that fact holds true on days like this. Here in Germany, it never really gets super hot. Maybe there are a few days out of the entire summer where it becomes unbearable. Unlike in the Caribbean where I grew up, you would think it is always hot and I would be use to it right? Believe me, I’M NOT. During winters there, I recall growing up, you can get a great beach day in where the sun is shining and the cool air is blowing. It’s the humidity that makes the difference in how hot you feel.
Here in DE, its was just plain HOT yesterday. Much hotter than it is in Bahamas (I checked the temperature). So much heat calls for an ice-cold drink. Not just any drink, but something fruity and brightly colored. Watermelon Juice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Watermelons are one of the best fruits for hot summer days. This refreshing fruit consists of mostly water, but it is also packed with nutrients and antioxidants. There is no secret recipe to making watermelon juice that most of you don’t already know. You can make it as simple as just using a Juicer, or you can dress it up with a few spices for a little kick. If you are feeling like a cocktail, add a dash of your favorite spirit or liquor.
I decided to blog about it well because it looked so pretty and wanted to share.
Ingredients
- 1 Medium Watermelon, juiced
- 3 Tablespoons fresh ginger, juiced
- 5 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
- 2 Tablespoons Agave Syrup*
- 1 Teaspoons Rose Water (optional)
- Ice Cubes (optional)
Directions
- Combine all ingredients into a glass pitcher, mix well, chill and serve.
Note *You can use brown sugar or white sugar if you are unable to put your hands on Agave. The taste will be slightly different but still great.
